Clients who plan to divorce or are divorced

Organising your money if you are preparing to divorce, or have recently divorced, can feel like an overwhelming task – particularly if you were not the one who previously took care of the household finances. We offer support and guidance during this crucial transition.

You may have questions about what divorce means for your finances, what you can afford and whether you have enough. There may be important decisions with long-lasting consequences that you’d like our help with, such as whether to accept a proposed settlement figure or where to live. You may not be sure what to do next and be struggling to visualise a life without your (former) spouse.

Our role is to help you clearly understand all your options, provide a sounding board as you work out what’s right for you, identify what you want from your future and show you how your money can support you in achieving it.

In the midst of a painful separation, it can feel hard to see a bright future ahead. With the help of our wider support team of therapists, a psychologist, nutritionist and travel agent, we will support you as you grow and help you rebuild your life in the way you want.

How we help

1.

Understanding your financial picture

We will help you understand what you have now, what you’re likely to need in the future and how separating from your partner is likely to affect your financial picture. We’ll help you understand what you can afford to spend without it affecting your long-term financial security and how your finances could be improved to support you as you make plans for your next steps.

2.

Planning for the future

We understand that it can be hard to think about the future when you are in the midst of a divorce. You may feel emotionally lost and financially vulnerable. How we help will depend greatly on your personal circumstances. But ultimately, we are here to help you identify the direction you want to take with your life, make a plan to get there and remove any financial or emotional obstacles that stand in your way.

3.

Financial confidence

You may want help getting to grips with the management of your immediate finances. Or perhaps you’d like to understand your investments a little better so that you’re able to make decisions about the direction of your future all by yourself. We pride ourselves on offering financial education alongside the financial coaching and planning that we offer. We don’t see it as our role to tell you what to do, but to give you the knowledge and tools to understand what’s right for you, yourself.

4.

Support for the journey

As with all our clients, your emotional wellbeing is as much our concern as your financial wellbeing. We also know that transitions don’t happen overnight. We therefore work alongside an experienced team which includes a psychologist, two psychotherapists, a hypnotherapist, a nutritionist, TRE® therapist and a travel agent specialising in arranging travel for women. It is entirely your choice who is involved in supporting your transition; our purpose is to enable you to feel positive about your future and able to move ahead confidently.
